SVETLONOSKA is a tablet weaver's  workshop in Nordhordland, Norway. We make accessories and supplies for themed weddings, historical costumes, LARPers and stylish outfits inspired by folk or fantasy fashion.

Shipping to the EU and the USA:

I am able to ship to the United States again! The toll and any administrative fees are processed by Norwegian post on our behalf.

Despite the chaos caused by EU waste regulations, I still ship to most EU countries since rules for small crafters and micro businesses as mine are not entirely clear. The only exception is Germany. As of now, I do not ship to Germany because I can't afford the registration fee.

From historical reenactment to whimsical fashion

Tablet weaving is a textile technique with a very long tradition in both of my homelands -
Norway and Slovakia. It is one of the oldest known weaving techniques that do not require a loom. Therefore, tablet woven bands are usually the first choice for
decoration of historical costumes starting with Iron Age and ending with early 20th century. The craft is endangered, but still alive, and definitely has its place in the slow fashion movement. Tablet woven bands from my workshop decorate medieval kirtles, hand-knitted cardigans, winter coats, summer dresses, and handbags all around the world, including South African republic or Japan.

  • Plant dyed and undyed yarns

    Designs in this shop are frequently based on historical artifacts. To make them even more authentic, some of them are made of naturally coloured and plant dyed yarns I dyed all by myself.

    Plant dyeing is my passion together with weaving. I prefer to use plants that can be collected in Norwegian nature, such as lichens, tree bark and wild flowers.

  • The creator

    I am not a reenactor myself, even though I love historical crafting. I do occasionally teach tablet weaving and plant dyeing in Nordhordland and Bergen. Furthermore, I am a member of Bergen HEMA group (longsword) since 2019.

  • Care instructions

    I use mostly wool. That is a material which needs fairly little washing. Most of dirt can be brushed away with a soft brush. Otherwise I recommend handwashing with wool detergent. Never use tumble dryer! More information in FAQ section
