Band inspired by an archeological find from Madonas, Lithuania. The original fragment comes from a burial of a person from upper social class.
I picked this motive from shawl border that was preserved.
The yarn comes from villsau, which is an ancient sheep breed that was in Norway already in Viking age. These sheep are not sheared as they maintained the ability to shed in the spring. The wool is carefully picked by hand and spun in our local mill Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. The grey and brown yarn are natural colour, the red is dyed with environmentally friendly dye.
