I use threads of multiple shades of green and purple to create a subtle shading of the pattern. Pattern itself consists of repeating double spirals. Each belt's colours are unique because I use different yarns every time.
In indo-european symbolism this double spiral stand for the flow of life and time, unfolding future and folding past. This ancient charming and decorative motive was often carved into door frames or utensils of everyday use, painted on ceramics and embroidered on textiles all around Europe thorought centuries.
This belt suits modern clothes as well as historical costumes and adds a folk-ish accent to the outfit. Present weaving technique is ofren called pebble-weave because of its typical background structure.
