This is a reconstrution of tablet woven band from 9-10th century Viking burial discovered in 1949 in Kaupang, Norway. I based my interpretation on a photo from UniMus digital archive and "Viking Women: Aprondress" by Hilde Thunem.
Fragment is cca 5 cm long and shows arrow pattern and distinct ''eyes''. The band was probably made of two different types of thread (one decayed, the other one survives. The original band was finished with a thicker twisted cord on one side, probably to reinforce the edge against wear and tear.
I used fine wool threads to make the reconstruction as close to the original as I can.
