Colours: green - rhubarb root + iron, brown - walnut, yellow - lady's mantle + yarrow + meadowsweet
The band is woven using historically accurate two hole technique. It is long enough to fully decorate a tunic, cape or dress.
The original comes from a salt mine in Hallstatt, Austria. Even though it was buried in salt since the Iron Age, this diamond patterned trim on a shirt cuff was wonderfully preserved. The original fragment was brightly coloured - red, blue and yellow - and I decided to recreate it in much humbler colours similar to those the band has now, after two millennia.
