Adjustable headband with Latvian pattern

Adjustable circumference: 50 - 60 cm (20 - 24")

Width: 2 cm (3/4")

Material: 100% Norwegian wool

Colours: light green, variegated orange, burnt orange 

Pattern is based on a fragment of tablet woven band excavated in Kalsnavas, Latvia. A band with almost identical pattern was also found in Kārļi, Latvia. This headband is handwoven on tablets using fine Norwegian wool dyed with plants I collected myself from the forest near my house. Headband's length is adjustable thanks to a drawstring.

It can be used just like it is, decorated with pendants or used as a part of more elaborate headdress. Ends are secured against unraveling by invisible stitches.
