Who is Svetlonoska?

My business is located in Bergen, Norway, but I am not a native Norwegian. As you may have guessed, my name Lucia means "As of light'', or ''Light carrier", which translates to Svetlonoska in my mother tongue Slovak.
I have been weaving since 2015 and made over 1500 bands and belts (and then stopped counting).
I focus on sustaining a traditional weaving technique called tablet weaving, or brikkevev. Furthermore, I am doing other handicrafts, including yarn processing - spinning and plant dyeing. Ecology and animal welfare are my main guidelines when choosing materials for my projects. I like buying my supplies from second hand, too. I occasionally teach tablet weaving as well.
My main sources of inspiration are historical textiles, folklore, mythology and underground music. As a former journalist, I still use my research skills when looking for accurate sources for a historical pattern. I share the most exciting finds at my blog.
I am an active member of Bergen HEMA group since 2019 and do longsword fencing.
