The pattern comes from textile fragment known as ''Birka B12''. The original band was brocaded. I "translated" the pattern into colourful threads using two-hole tablet weaving.
The yarn is made of villsau wool. Villsau is an old breed that was raised already in the Viking age. Villsau sheep maintained the ability to shed in the spring so instead of shearing are lock picked by hand. This wool is later spun in our local mill Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.
